Industrial Associate (IA) Membership Program Overview

The IA membership, which began more than 45 years ago, is a unique aspect of the chapter that has proven to be both relevant and influential in the Los Angeles area and with our Army leadership.

While there is no large active-duty Army installation in the Greater Los Angeles area, Southern California has continued to be a center for technology development – not just for the Army, but for many branches of the military, as well as for the IT industry. This concentration of research and development talent has given the IA membership much of its strength and unique ability to inform and support our key Army leaders.

The IA membership hosts several “members-only” events in the Greater Los Angeles area each year. These events include a high-ranking military or DoD civilian as the special guest. The intimate events provide a venue for the guest to speak openly on the subject of their choice. We call these “fireside chats” – they always include a lively interchange between our members and the guest. IA members are also able to participate in our annual “City Tavern Dinner,” which is held in Washington DC during the AUSA Annual meeting. This dinner is extraordinarily special – some of our highest-ranking guests first started attending as Colonels and have continued to join us over the years.

Fifty percent of the annual membership dues is tax deductible, as it funds our Omar Bradley Scholarship fund for JROTC and ROTC cadets.

Membership fee is $2500. That includes the cost of the local dinners. The University Club dinner is a separate cost.
